What it's like to be an advisor

Be compensated for the expertise you've spent a career building.

Real expertise matters here.

Our network includes executives, functional leaders, specialists, academics, former regulators, and other experienced professionals. Some bring broad leadership context. Others bring deep subject-matter expertise.

That breadth matters. Client questions span industries, functions, markets, and geographies. The strongest expert network reflects that range.

Share what you know.

Clients come to Guidepoint with specific questions and look for professionals with relevant experience to help answer them. Requests are focused. Topics are clear.

You review opportunities based on relevance, timing, and match. You choose which opportunities to accept. If it makes sense, you participate. If not, you pass.

Benefit from your experience.

Guidepoint offers paid opportunities tied to the expertise you have built over time. Participation is flexible and shaped around your schedule.

The work is focused and substantive. You contribute on topics you know well, stay close to important questions in the market, and extend the value of your experience beyond your current role.

How it Works

Guidepoint matches you to the right opportunities.

Our project managers know your background and only reach out when there’s a real fit. You stay in control of every engagement — what you share, when you share it, and how much you charge.

01

You tell us what you know.

A short profile — companies you’ve worked at, the topics you can speak to, the questions where your perspective is sharpest. We never publish your profile; it’s only used internally to match you to relevant projects.

02

We screen every project for fit.

Our project managers review each client request against your background. You only hear from us when there’s a real match for your expertise and the timing makes sense.

03

You decide whether to engage.

Every invitation comes with full scope, time commitment, and compensation up front. Accept the projects that fit; pass on the ones that don’t. There’s no minimum and no penalty.

04

Compliance is handled end-to-end.

Our compliance team reviews every engagement against the rules of your current employer or fiduciary duties. You sign once; we keep the rails clean for every call afterward.

Let us know you're interested.

More than 2,000 experts who are new to our network take part in projects each month.

If you have 10+ years of experience, and would like to be considered for future projects, please share your details with us here.

Should we receive a project that’s a fit for your expertise, a member of our team will contact you for addition to our network. Please be sure to respond promptly as research projects are time-sensitive and consultations are often completed within 72 hours of the initial request.

Common Questions About Guidepoint Advisors.

Start by registering your interest and sharing your background, experience, and areas of expertise. If your profile is a fit for client demand, you may be invited to join the network and complete the required verification and compliance steps before participating.

Selection is driven by client need and topic fit. Clients make the final choice on who they would like to speak with. Screening questions help determine relevance, but responses are not shared with clients and are not compensated.

A strong profile helps. Clear detail on your roles, responsibilities, and areas of expertise improves matching quality. Screening questions also matter. They help our team assess fit for a specific request. Responding to outreach quickly can also improve the chances of being considered for relevant projects, as well as tailor which projects you are considered for in the future.

Participation is designed to work within clear compliance boundaries. You decide whether to move forward based on your role, your responsibilities, and your internal requirements.

Pioneering access to expert insight.
