Meet Madeline! Madeline is a Project Manager here at Guidepoint in our San Francisco office. She graduated from Dartmouth College, where she studied geography and was a member of the varsity golf team. In her free time, she enjoys traveling, playing with her dog Archie, and playing a quick 9 holes on the weekend. We interviewed Madeline to find out her favorite aspects of working at Guidepoint as well as what drives her.

Guidepoint: What is the best part of working on the Client Service team?

Madeline: The most interesting part to me is the exposure to different organizations and how they all run in unique ways. One of my favorite parts of being a project manager is building rapport with my clients and learning their individual preferences. It’s always fulfilling to receive positive feedback when the team can deliver on a tough project.

Guidepoint: What do you find most interesting about working in the expert network industry?

Madeline: One of the most interesting aspects is the exposure to different industries – technology, consumer goods, healthcare, and everything in between. I get to learn about a new company or industry every single day.

Guidepoint: What has been one of your biggest accomplishments so far in your career?

Madeline: I would consider some of my biggest “wins” so far to be building strong relationships with a few particular clients. I’ve been able to really grow a few accounts I’ve recently started working with, and it’s rewarding to see the hard work pay off.

One of my clients once said “Madeline is doing an awesome job. Very responsive and great to work with. She deserves a promotion!!!” This was definitely a highlight and brought a smile to my face!

Guidepoint: Have you ever seen something you’ve worked on reflected in the news? What was it?

Madeline: We see projects we work on in the news all the time! Whether it be in traditional news outlets, daily financial newsletters, or on websites like LinkedIn, it is always exciting to see the impact of the work we do. We have a wide range of clients on our team, so we see everything from public to private and venture investments.

Guidepoint: What’s the most unique kind of expert you’ve worked with at Guidepoint?

Madeline: The one that first comes to mind is a comic book expert! He’s worked in the comic book industry for decades and has one of the largest vintage comic book collection in the world. We also have an incredible network of doctors and medical professionals.

Guidepoint: Who is your biggest career inspiration whether internally at Guidepoint or externally?

Madeline: My biggest career inspiration would have to be my mom! She’s worked at the same company for over 30 years and has shown me the value of hard work and perseverance. She has been a great role model for not only being an incredible mother but a kick-a** career woman.

Guidepoint: What would you consider yourself an expert in or at?

Madeline: I’m not sure I have the qualifications to be an expert in anything just yet, but I can talk about golf for hours! Last week’s tournament, interesting stats, hot topics, and gossip in the golf world – you name it, I’ll talk to you about it.
