Meet Kevin! Kevin is a Talent Acquisition Specialist at Guidepoint. Kevin graduated from the University of Shanghai Science and Technology where he studied Business Administration. In his free time, Kevin loves playing basketball, listening to music, and cooking.
Why did you pursue a career in recruiting?
Kevin: Previously I was a really shy boy, so I thought that pursuing a career in recruiting can change my personality and help me become more outgoing. Frequently talking to others has helped boost my confidence.
What’s your favorite aspect of the recruiting process?
Kevin: I love talking to the candidates, whether that’s face-to-face or virtually. Talking with the candidate can help you learn more about them and I can even make friends with them after the interview. When the candidates tell me that they learned more about Guidepoint during the talk, that feels great.
What does a typical interview process and timeline look like?
Kevin: I mainly recruit for the Client Service Team and the whole process lasts around a week. In the Shanghai Office, we all work in the office, so it’s convenient to communicate with the PMs because we can just talk face to face. So the whole process will be just around a week.
What’s something that typically stands out to you when you’re screening a candidate?
Kevin: Good communication skills. I mainly recruit for the Associate role and this role really needs candidates with communication skills. So candidates with good communication skills will stand out.
Why did you apply to Guidepoint?
Kevin: The expert network industry is a really new industry in China and Guidepoint is a leading company in the industry. The expert network industry is really similar to headhunting, so I thought I can succeed in this industry.
