Why did you pursue a career in recruiting?

Devante: Recruitment had never been at the forefront of my career plans but after being given the chance to try my hand at it whilst in HR I’ve never looked back. It gives me the chance to use my people skills along with satisfying my competitive streak of reaching targets & goals.

What’s your favorite aspect of the recruiting process?

Devante: My favorite part of the recruitment process is being able to offer a candidate the position, for most people this can mean so much, not just in their professional development but also in their personal life being able to enjoy new things.

What does a typical interview process and timeline look like?

Devante: In the Client Service department our interview process is straightforward and quick, the recruitment team has an initial screening interview with the candidate, if suitable they are then interviewed by the hiring team and then if successful moved on for a mock exercise which analyses the candidates fit for the role. This is followed by an offer to the most suitable candidate.

What’s something that typically stands out to you when you’re screening a candidate?

Devante: The difference between a good candidate and a great one is displaying positive energy, a vibrant character and the time they have put into researching Guidepoint and the job description. Our screening calls are informal as we like candidates to feel comfortable and hopefully, their personality comes out.

Why did you apply to Guidepoint?

Devante: A previous colleague introduced me to Guidepoint and once I did my research it stuck out to me as a company I would like to work for, this was due to the culture and opportunity for growth which isn’t something you see at most global companies.

How would you describe Guidepoint company culture?

Devante: To me, Guidepoint’s culture is all about being supported to grow within a diverse environment, where you can collaborate on projects which are suited to your career goals but also ones that will introduce you to new areas.

What’s one piece of advice you would give to someone thinking about applying to Guidepoint?

Devante: Be confident in who you are, what you want to achieve, and how your profile is perfect for life at Guidepoint. Research Guidepoint, the expert network industry and don’t be afraid to ask questions.

Tell us a fun fact about yourself!
